Witch Hat Atelier is the most beautiful manga I have read. The linework and artistry is just next level. But the story is the most compelling part. It is soft and comforting, dark and harrowing, all through a lens of hope and belief in people. It’s deeply human.

Qifrey came about as I wanted to have a manga cosplay to attend Animaga as an invited judge. I was thrilled when Radariant (https://www.instagram.com/radariant/) and Zoe (https://www.instagram.com/zoe.elizabeth.cosplay/) offered to be my children for a quick shoot as well. It took me far too many tries to find fabric colours I liked for this, but I think warming the colours up worked well, and of course I needed some lovely contrast with textures.
